Merino Private Equity is delighted to announce its recent acquisition of SRBE, a plant hire and construction supplies group.
Established in 1969, the SRBE group consists of SRBE Plant & Tool Hire, SRBE Building Supplies, and SRBE Electrical Wholesalers, and is based in Milton Keynes.
SRBE’s core business is offering plant and tools for hire to the construction industry. Over the years it has established a reputation for providing high quality service and offering a range of modern equipment to a wide variety of customers. SRBE has sites in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, and Croughton, which provide it with good coverage of the Home Counties, Midlands, and London.
Merino invested in SRBE together with Francis Marx, who will take responsibility going forward for managing the group. Both Francis and Mark Colley of Merino will join the board.
Mark Colley, Managing Director of Merino Private Equity, said: “We are delighted to announce our acquisition of SRBE, and are excited to be partnering with Francis. SRBE is a profitable company with a solid reputation and considerable potential – we look forward to working with Francis to further develop and grow the business.”
Francis Marx said: “SRBE has grown significantly in recent years, and I am looking forward to working with Merino and the existing management team to further realise SRBE’s potential.”
Neil Hollingworth, exiting shareholder, said: “We are delighted to have sold SRBE to Merino and Francis. Their focus on continuity and growth convinced us that they were the right party to take SRBE’s talented team forward.”
